Tommy Coleman
I am an IT professional and creative developer from Sacramento, California.

Background
Hey there! I’m Tommy, a lifelong tech enthusiast with a knack for problem-solving and a love for learning new things. My journey started with computer science studies at Sierra College, but my path has been anything but traditional. From building race cars to running my own eBay business, I’ve always been drawn to hands-on problem-solving and creative projects. Eventually, I found my way into web development, creating sites from and learning to code. Now, with a Google IT Support Certificate under my belt, I’m diving deeper into tech, blending my passions in coding, design, and entrepreneurship to start (and sometimes even finish) cool projects. When I’m not tinkering with code, you’ll probably find me sim racing, 3D printing, or out in the forest hunting for crystals.
Education
My learning journey has been anything but traditional. I’ve always had an insatiable curiosity for the things that interest me, and when I set my mind to something, I won’t stop until I understand it inside and out. That curiosity, combined with my stubborn determination, has shaped me into a relentless problem-solver and lifelong learner. While I studied Computer Science at Sierra College, much of my technical expertise comes from hands-on experience, personal projects, and endless curiosity. Whether it’s troubleshooting hardware, coding a new web app, or diving into automation with Python, I’ve always been the type to roll up my sleeves and figure things out. More recently, I earned the Google IT Support Certificate, further solidifying my skills in system administration, networking, and troubleshooting. Formal education is great, but for me, the best learning happens when I’m in the middle of a problem, searching for a solution, and gaining real-world experience along the way.
Skills
I love breaking things down, figuring out how they work, and making them better—whether it’s a website, a piece of hardware, or an IT issue. My background spans across web development, IT support, and automation, giving me a solid mix of technical and problem-solving skills. I’m experienced with troubleshooting software and hardware issues, setting up and managing systems in Windows and Linux, and working with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory. When it comes to web development, I’ve built sites from the ground up using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, and even worked with platforms like WordPress and Shopify for e-commerce solutions. On the automation side, I’ve used Python to streamline workflows, cutting down repetitive tasks and making processes more efficient.
Beyond the tech side, my years in customer service have taught me how to communicate complex ideas in a way that’s easy to understand, whether I’m helping someone fix an issue or working on a project with a team. If there’s a challenge, I’m always ready to tackle it head-on and learn something new along the way!
